corn, tomato, basil chowder

its not even officially fall but i’m already wanting hot soup. then again, the weather did take a drastic 20 degree plunge. nothing soothes my goose bumps than a nice bowl of soup. the cold also makes me lazy to go out for anything. i would just have to make due of what i have in the house. then i saw this recent recipe in the NYT. perfecto! i made a few of my own adjustments: using some homemade veggie broth i had in my freezer, leftover grilled corn on the cob, multi-colored cherry tomatoes and left out the sour cream (cause i forgot i ran out).

it was super delish! even better the next day, which i picked and chopped more fresh basil. bon appetit!
