Flashback Friday

After taking a rough ride in back of a pickup truck, I whined about hiking another 2hr uphill. But in the end, it was ALL worth it. I’m not sure if my traveling companions thought so, but he promised that I was in for something amazing, and he was right.

We arrived at the monarch butterfly sanctuary (santuario de mariposa monarca) in Michoacán de Ocampo, Mexico. At first glance it was just forestry, then the sky would fill up with confetti except the confetti was actually thousands if not millions of butterflies. I imagine like Alfred Hitchcock’s birds but these were just harmless little creatures. Every twist and turn, fluttering butterflies everywhere! Some even came to say “hi!” Amazing!
